Artsemble Underground
Presents!
Swfl Mural Fest 2025!
Artsemble Underground is proud to announce the third annual MuralFest coming up in the Spring of 2025! After two years of this groundbreaking community event, including the notably successful rendition in April of 2024, we are ready to hit the ground running on an even bigger and more expansive project, featuring more walls and including more local talent.
SWFL MURAL FEST 2023
This past April we witnessed the culmination of Artsemble and their teams’ efforts in the first set of permanent murals on the All Out Bail Bonds building in downtown Fort Myers. A hand-selected group of artists from all over Southwest Florida divided into teams to create these unique works of art, all in a centralized location. The subsequent celebration of these murals was a grand and highly attended affair, featuring live painting, music, dancing, special performances, and speeches from our community leaders.
Our intention is to grow this project into something momentous, but we need the support of our community in order to make it happen. The economic impact of arts and culture in Lee County generates about $140 million in annual economic activity (according to the Arts and Economic Prosperity 5 (AEP5) study). In recent months, we have seen a reduction in investment in the arts, which has the potential to be detrimental to the progress of our beloved city. Through special projects such as MuralFest, we are investing in local talent and helping to put Fort Myers on the map as a cultural hub and destination for everyone who values the arts.
Art is essential to everyday life; it heals, connects, and educates. Art ignites self-expression and transforms the way that we interact with our community and each other. Projects like MuralFest not only serve to beautify public spaces in our city, but they also provide inspiration to all and strengthen the social fabric of our region, as well as support and showcase the immense local talent that exists right here at home.
SWFL MURAL FEST 2024
In our most recent MuralFest 2024 project, we selected four team captains from amongst some of the most notable and talented leaders in the local art scene. Those captains chose team members to help complete their murals, which were themed after the four elements: Air, Water, Earth and Fire – plus the fifth element, Spirit, which was completed by the founders of Artsemble Underground and their team. The result of these artists' efforts was extraordinary, leaving five gorgeous murals on the sides of the All Out Bail Bonds building off of Martin Luther King Blvd in downtown Fort Myers. The pinnacle of this project was in the grand reveal event, taking place during the first Friday in April during the monthly Fort Myers Art Walk. This event left everyone involved feeling connected and inspired, having accomplished and/or witnessed something truly meaningful.

In 2025, the team at Artsemble Underground plans to expand upon the original vision. After all, an event like this one can only grow into a bigger and better occasion through community support. The theme for this next year’s MuralFest has yet to be decided, but the selection process for team captains will be opened up to applicants from all over Southwest Florida – through the Battle of the Arts challenges. Applicants will be asked to participate in one of two scheduled Art Battle events this fall, during which they will create a “mini-mural” on site to show their mettle! The winners of these art battles will become the esteemed teams or team captains for our next MuralFest, and then challenged with creating original murals on walls throughout the downtown Fort Myers district. After the completion of those murals, a process that will take place early in the year, we will host yet another massive reveal event during Fort Myers Art Walk in April, featuring more live performances, artwork, vendors, and featuring the presence of our esteemed sponsors and community leaders.
